_g_t_k_I_n_i_t_C_h_e_c_k

_D_e_s_c_r_i_p_t_i_o_n:

     This function does the same work as 'gtkInit' with only  a single
     change: It does not terminate the program if the GUI can't be 
     initialized. Instead it returns 'FALSE' on failure.

_U_s_a_g_e:

     gtkInitCheck(args = .GtkInitArgs)

_D_e_t_a_i_l_s:

     This way the application can fall back to some other means of
     communication  with the user - for example a curses or command
     line interface.

_V_a_l_u_e:

     [logical]  'TRUE' if the GUI has been successfully initialized, 
     'FALSE' otherwise.
